Project Bablefish

As an ode to information theory and inspired by personal experiences of disability Molloy uses codes, Braille, Morse, online translation services, human interaction and a bespoke computer programme to translate text into beautiful cryptographic artworks whose original meaning may be deciphered. The Bablefish Programme will allow Molloy to automate timely and tedious plotting processes and concentrate on sourcing appropriate texts and design. An aim of Project Bablefish is the democratisation of art production and ownership by reducing sale and production costs while the process allows for audience involvement. This highly automated process will allow Molloy to produce a beautiful, low cost and unique artwork a day, every day, for a year.

Each month  a different subjects will be explored through quotations. texts or original. Monthly themes may include insults, aesthetics, the word (biblical and otherwise), useless signage, love poems, bad scripts and lines from movies. Themes and corresponding months will be posted online and suggestions for themes or related quotations are warmly welcomed via the contact me page

Bespoke commissions of containing names, messages of love or hate and wedding vows will also be undertaken.

Project Babelfish is an evolution/ continuation of two earlier bodies of work the READ Project 2004 and Inappropriate Braille 2009
